The Fastest Way To Fall by Densie Williams - Book Review

Well, well, well... it is clear that I have found my new favourite romance author. Denise Williams. WHAT. AN. AUTHOR. What I did not know is this is actually her second book which came out in 2021 but don't worry, I will be reading her debut novel. I found this author on Twitter, I don't know how but one day Willimas showed up on my feed and I saw this novel was coming out and I knew I would love it. Trust me when I say this, not only do the characters fall in love, but it also feels as if the readers are doing the same.

From the blurb, which hooked me, we learn that Britta works for a lifestyle magazine and one day she has the opportunity to write about a certain fitness app, and doing so could help her out in the long run. The creator of this app/gym, Wes, ends up becoming Britta's trainer, helping her out with different workouts. However, when Britta signed up to do this, what she didn't sign up for was to fall for Wes. The best thing to do is to walk away from each other, as Wes isn't even meant to be helping clients anymore due to his more senior role, and if work found out how close the pair have gotten when she's meant to be reviewing this, Britta could be in trouble.

I must say, it has been a while since I truly fell in love with a romance novel, and there are many elements to this book as to why I did love it. For starters, our protagonist, Britta, is plus size and I know you might be wondering, oh no, she's plus size and reviewing this fitness app, this book is going to promote how she ended up losing all of this weight and that's why she ends up with our love interest, Wes. No, you couldn't be more wrong. Yes, Britta might not be the typical skinny woman which we have seen multiple times in novels, and yes, she is reviewing a fitness app, but this book does not promote weight loss, it promotes the feeling you have when you find a workout which works for you, whether it is running, Zumba or weights. This book focuses on fitness but revolves more around a person's mental state and how it positively affects that. I am so happy that Denise Williams wrote it this way, because too many times we have seen that plus-size characters can only find happiness if they lose weight, which quite frankly, is not true, people deserve happiness no matter their body type.
I also enjoyed how the chapters were spilt between Wes and Britta, as it allowed us to dive deep into each of our main characters and truly learn what has affected them in the past to understand why they might act in a certain way. Doing so made these characters realistic, and any reader would be able to tell why these two would fall for one another.
Most importantly, Williams' way of writing is truly inspirational and beautiful which makes everyone wish they too could have a moment like this in their real life.

As you might have guessed, I have nothing bad to mention about this novel, because I simply love Britta and Wes. This is why I would give it 5/5 stars, and I can't wait to read more of Denise Williams' novels.
