Meet Me In another Life by Catriona Silvey - Book Review

I remember when I first read this blurb and I really wanted to read it, only to see that it still had to come out. This is a gem of a novel and falls into the genre of fantasy as well as possibly sci-fi.
This is Catriona Silvey's first book. Previously, she has worked in scientific publishing, and I guess her interest in science truly did inspire this novel.

Meet Me In Another Life is about two people, Thora and Santi, who are strangers in a city they have never been to before. When they first bump into each other, their kindness is seen throughout the pair and they cannot stop talking. However, days later an accident occurs, cutting this relationship short. However, they will meet again in many different timelines. Always set in this city. Somehow connected, whether it is them being adopted siblings, teacher and student, and even lovers. But as these timelines keep on restarting, the pair start to come to terms that they have met each other a hundred times before.

As you can tell by the summary of the novel it is rather enchanting and captivating. Who wouldn't want to read this book to find out why this pair keep on meeting each other in different timelines and always having a different relationship?
What I really enjoyed about this novel is that the reader was on the journey with them, neither these two characters nor the reader knew what was happening, and why this was occuring. Whenever they learnt new information, the reader also learnt it as well. It does mean when reading this novel you should try your best to not have any disturbance as one little distraction can affect whether you know what is happening or if you're lost.
Stating that I do believe Silvey wrote the flow of the novel perfectly. This novel could have easily been repetitive as these two characters keep on bumping into each other, do occasionally have similar arguments until they realise the bigger picture. However, Silvey does the repeat of them meeting one another without realising they had done this before the right amount of time for it to not become boring. Once this cycle happened a few times, that's when Santi and Thora start to realise something is not right.
Yet, if you believe this novel is two lovers' time travelling between universes, I have to stop you there. As mentioned their relationship differs between each universie, but there is sometimes a slight romantic element between the pair, which does make you root for them. I will not say anymore as I do not want to ruin the core plot of this novel.
But I must say, the twist of this novel does break your heart, and wish they could be living million of more of these timelines.

Therefore, I'd give this novel 5/5 stars as it is nothing I have ever read before and is rather unique.
