Guess who’s back - Dear Luna

Dear Luna,

Guess who’s back?!?

Me!

I want to surrender myself to sleep but I am currently on my delayed plane, waiting for lift off which should have happened over two hours ago. Sure, some people would be reading this and think, just go to sleep. And I would love to, but I am also on duty to update my family for them to know what time to leave to pick me up from the airport in Naples.

Summer has arrived which means holidays in the warmth, instead of miserable England which has been raining for the past week or two. But, alas (always wanted to use this word), an obstacle has occurred which means temperatures in the thirties is still out of reach, but hopefully the plane will depart, soon.

We were about to leave but something was wrong with the engine making the plane turn back around. Fire services came on, followed by the engineers, and two cabin crews had to be swapped due to the fumes they breathed in. But thankfully, we should be leaving soon as everything has been signed off and everything is safe.

I’m rather shocked that something like this didn’t happen when my cousin and I were travelling Asia earlier in the year. Especially with the many planes we took, you’d think one of them would have ended up being delayed a lot. But no, instead this had to happen at the start of the summer holidays.

I can’t help but think how this represents my life, everytime excitement fizzles inside of me that I am moving forward in my life, something happens and pushes back.

And just as I wrote that sentence, we have been told that we are ready to lift off.

Maybe that’s a sign. Because at the end of day, I was always going to go to Italy to see my family, no matter if there was some pushback.

Perhaps that’s what I need to take in. Because by the end of it, what I want to achieve in life will happen, no matter the challenges that will arise. I will become an author even if there is some pushback in my journey.

Maybe that is something we all need to take in, no matter when we feel we are not moving anywhere in our life, to remember that we are, even if the steps to achieving it seem very small.

Now, I am off to sleep for the whole of the plane journey.

Until next time, Luna.

❤️❤️❤️
